As I write this my fiftieth post on this site has just gone live. This one probably brings that number closer to sixty.
I don’t bring up blogging statistics to boast or self-promote—well, not entirely—but rather to note that for all the writing and quasi-reporting I’ve done here I’ve barely begun to scratch the surface of this whole artificial intelligence topic.
This was driven home to me the other evening while I was scrolling through some feed or another and was trying to jot down notes about future topics I could introduce through posts here… but I realized that there is just so much that it begins to seen nigh impossible to adequately dig into any of the countless topics without skimming over countless others.
I’ve begun, of course, but for every article I’ve posted there seems to be ten other equally important ideas that I wish I could find the time to investigate and write on.
We seem to be on the verge of some kind of political and economic upheaval around this whole industry, and there is an inescapable surge of discussion from every single perspective on the topic, and here I am just one wee voice in the crowd.
Maybe, though, we should think of it as a microcosm of the broader impacts of the technology itself: it overwhelms our senses until all that is left is this sense of hopelessness that any single one of us can only push back so much, can only raise a single sword against a invading hoard.
I’ll keep posting. I’ll keep fighting. Every human voice matters.
