Hi, I’m Brad the author of this little blog… and I have a complex and multi-faceted relationship with technology.

Yes, I take a lot of my work very seriously and in multiple capacities am available for hire and to work, but you’ll find that facet of my work over on my corporate website, 8r4d.com
This site is more personal.
I kicked off this site in June 2026 as an extension of another blog project A Blog from Nowhere where I had accidentally found myself frequently straying into writing about AI and technology rather than the actual topic of that blog, art and creativity. (Lots of overlap, as you can imagine.) Rather than toss all those big ideas, I started this site as a standalone project instead, and this one is actually meant to be all about AI and technology.
We are the Poets and the Processors are all around us lately. I found that I wanted to write more and think more and be more involved in this era of generative computation, but to do so from my own perspective: a creative tech guy who needs these tools to to his job but is simultaneously wary of a technology that is shrouded in complex public perceptions granted via politics, popular culture, and personal experiences.

I have been working alongside AI for a while now, from dabbling, to participating in training and data annotation, to vibe coding personal projects, and too, even trying to study the public information about the code and concepts at the heart of how these systems actually work.
This site, though, is all just a big idea at the moment, but as I get going and write more I’ll be diving into various AI-linked topics on those subjects, sharing thoughts and ideas each weekday, and trying to wrap my head around what it means to be a creative tech professional in the age of artificial creativity and vast generative computational power.
It’s the Poets versus the Processors. Stay tuned!
