Hi, I’m Brad the author of this little blog… and to say I have a complex and multi-faceted relationship with technology is something of an understatement.

I am a technopile. I am a lover of code. A gamer. An explorer of the web. A dreamer of techno-idealism who witnessed the birth of the modern web and has weathered its many iterations. I strive to be an activist for the clever pursuits of humanity. And too, I am a writer, an artist and a poet.

I kicked off this blog-meets-writing collection in June 2026 as an extension of another daily blogging project A Blog from Nowhere where I had frequently found my writing straying into opining about AI and technology topics adjacent to the actual theme of that blog: art and creativity. (Lots of overlap, as you can imagine.) Rather than bin all those big ideas, I started this site as a standalone project instead, and this blog is actually meant to be all about AI and technology.

We are the Poets, after all… and we are met in the modern world a challenger: the Processors.

I found that I wanted to write more and think more and be more involved, now in this era of generative computation, but to do so from my own activism and educator’s perspective: a creative tech guy who needs these tools to to his work but is simultaneously wary of a technology that is shrouded in complex public perceptions granted via politics, popular culture, and personal experiences.

I am not anti-AI and in fact I have been working alongside AI for a while now, from reading to dabbling, to participating in training and data annotation, to vibe coding personal projects, and too, even trying to study the public information about the code and concepts at the heart of how these systems actually work.

On this site I’ve been diving into various AI-linked mini-essay topics, covering everything from politics to philosophy, on subjects that seem to be burning up the internet. I’ve been sharing thoughts and ideas each weekday, and trying to wrap my head around what it means to be a creative tech professional in the age of artificial creativity and vast generative computational power, navigating up the middle with the precision of a bull in a data centre.

big ideas

This site is growing as I post each and every weekday. Sometimes the posts are little more than anecdote, observation or opinion, but occasionally they include some gentle reporting on adjacent ideas and topics.

I try to cite sources where applicable, and if I haven’t it’s usually because it’s notions that have been floating around in my head for a while and I don’t remember how they got there.

That said: I’m just one guy sitting in a cafe sipping tea and telling stories.

If you disagree with what I post, and you occasionally will, that’s ok… but then keep in mind I’m just a guy writing quasi-fluff about a topic he loves and overthinking many of the parts of it in the same way I’ve been overthinking it for a while. Your experience may vary, so either leave a friendly comment in that spirit… or move along. Blogs are cheap, platforms are ubiquitous, so go make your own if you have something that you really, really need to get off your chest.

This is very much a private space and your “rights” to post anything on my site neither exist nor apply any more meaningfully than I would need to tolerate someone yelling at me inside my own home. That is to say, I reserve the right to delete comments, limit access or control anything or anyone that I don’t think belongs here… without warning or recourse.
